PEI Potato Leek Chowder
Prairie Corn Bacon Chowder
Cape Breton Seafood Chowder
Three sample size servings will be offered with sourdough bread made locally.
Participants will judge their favourites, and at the end of the morning, the gold, silver, and bronze winners will be announced.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be given to the Vernon chapter of the Starfish Backpack Program, a favourite local non-profit of Knox’s. The backpack program ensures that children and families with food security issues are sent home on Friday afternoon, with a backpack filled with enough food for simple meals throughout the weekend. On Monday, the child returns the empty backpack and it is filled again in time for the next weekend. Food choices are such that even younger children can prepare food and not be hungry.
