Community Event Application

Thank you for your interest in hosting an event during Vernon Winter Carnival, February 5–14, 2027! Community events are the heart of our festival, and we’re excited to have you be part of the official Carnival lineup. Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2027. Once approved, your event will be promoted as part of the official Carnival schedule on our website, in the official printed Carnival brochure, and across our media and marketing channels.

Thank you for your interest in hosting an event during the Vernon Winter Carnival! Community hosted events are a big part of what makes the Carnival so special. They bring the celebration to every corner of our city and give everyone more ways to share in the fun.

Please review the Vernon Winter Carnival 2027 Community Event Terms & Conditions before submitting.

Ticketed events: All tickets are sold through the Vernon Winter Carnival website. A 15% commission is deducted from your total ticket sales, and it goes directly back into the Vernon Winter Carnival Society. Applicable processing fees are deducted before the commission is calculated. We recommend building the commission into your ticket price.
GST: 5% GST is added to all ticket prices, and VWC collects and remits it.
Free and non-ticketed events: A $50 flat fee applies to be listed in the Carnival brochure and on our website.
Payouts: Payouts are issued by EFT or cheque within one week after Carnival ends, along with a full statement of ticket sales, fees, GST, and commission.

Insurance
All events must carry appropriate liability insurance. Vernon Winter Carnival Society must be added as an additional insured on your policy, and your certificate of insurance must be provided to VWC before your event. Event organizers are not covered under Winter Carnival insurance.

Licensing & Permits
Event organizers are responsible for obtaining all required permits, licences, and approvals. These include food service permits, liquor licenses, Serving-it-Right Certification, special event permits, venue approvals, and more if required.
